“TEQUILA”
Nanday Conure
Adoption Fee $75 or $125 with Cage

My name is Tequila and I’m a nanday conure. I like to refer to my personality as “spicy/sweet”, and at times I like to loudly let you know how much I love life. No, I am not loud all day, but I have my moments that make me unsuitable for apartment living. I am a spirited creature and sometimes I like to test my boundaries, but I am really just a sweetie. Once you pick me up you’ll see just what a love bug I am. I readily accept head scratches, beak kisses and cuddles. Give me a home and I will give you many years of love, joy and happiness.

“ABBY”
Quaker Parrot
Adoption Fee $50 (no cage available)
Abby is a Quaker Parrot approximately 5-10 years old. Abby’s previous owner had passed away and Abby was subsequently abandoned by the living relatives. This never affected her attitude and she has been affectionate and friendly from day one. She shows her affection by rubbing her face against your face and making these cute little popping sounds. (It reminds me of the popping noise Kramer from Seinfeld makes during set changes and intermissions.) Abby is an absolute doll and will be a great companion for the person lucky enough to adopt her. Check out the video of her running thru the laundry!

“SCOOTER & PEE WEE”
Quaker Parrot and Lovebird
*bonded – must be adopted together*
Adoption Fee $75 or $125 with Cage

Scooter and PeeWee are a bonded pair of fids, Scooter is a quaker and Pee Wee is a lovebird. They have been in foster for almost 2 years. Scooter is estimated to be approximately 10 years old. PeeWee’s age is uncertain, but estimated to be 4-6yrs old. They have been together in the same cage since PeeWee was introduced at a young age and are bonded and are to remain together.
Scooter is your typical quaker in that she is territorial of her cage and her “things” so if you put your hands in her cage, expect to be confronted by her beak! She can become quite loud when she is scared or startled, but it doesn’t last long. She “mumbles” like so many quakers. Some words you can figure out and some not. I know Scooter is a she because she has laid a few eggs since being in rescue. Scooter enjoys playing with her toys, especially the ones with bells and she will come out of her cage if you leave the door open. Once she is out of her cage you can get her to step up and if you take her in another room she is a very different bird.
PeeWee is a real friendly little bird. She will step right up, give kisses, and will sit on your shoulder all day long if you let her. She is very gentle when out of cage but has become a bit nippy once or twice when I was messing with her toys and things inside the cage. It could be because she sees Scooter react that way whenever you get close to the cage she goes on the defense!!! PeeWee sleeps every night in a birdy bunk and she is very playful and interacts well with humans. She is equally as comfortable with me as my husband and has never bitten us. Both birds are both on a mixture of pellet, seed, dried fruits and nuts. They enjoy a few people foods like english muffins with peanut butter, pasta, rice, grapes and apples. We have tried some others, but this is what they have accepted so far.
If you are looking for fun birds, these two may be just for you. Please contact us with any questions!

“MAMA GUMP”
Quaker Parrot
Adoption Fee $50 or $100 with Cage
Hi, my name is Mama Gump and I’m a Green Quaker Parrot. I’m very shy and a little cage aggressive (hey, I’m a quaker after all!), but I will take food from your hand. I am on a pelleted diet with fresh fruits and veggies and some nuts. I may look a little funny though because my wing was broken at one point in my life and I wasn’t treated by a vet, but it doesn’t cause me any pain and I am just fine! My name was Buddy, but after I laid eggs, my mom changed my name to Mama Gump! Won’t you come meet me and then take me home?

“SUNNY & ARIEL”
bonded Sun Conure and Cockatiel
*bonded pair – must be adopted together*
Adoption Fee $100 or $150 with Cage

These two are quite the colorful pair! Sunny is a gorgeous sun conure and Ariel is a beautiful little cockatiel. These two absolutely adore each other. They love to spend time cuddling in their cozy hut and playing with their toys. They are a little shy at first, but have slowly, but surely, been coming out of their shell, they are handleable but a little timid right now, but we are positive that once they become a little more comfortable in their foster home, that they will be very affectionate with us too! They are currently being converted to a better diet to include pellets and fresh fruits and vegetables. We believe they are both about 10 years young! If you are looking for a lovely little couple to add to your flock, this might be just the pair for you!

“MAX”
Quaker Parrot
Adoption Fee $50 no cage available

Max came to us when his owner became too ill to care for him any longer. This little lover does have a club foot, but balances well and the vet said the disability is a non-issue health wise. Max has a large amount of pin feathers on his little head but we are working on getting him groomed properly. We are also currently converting him to a healthier diet, including a nice pellet blend and we are introducing him to lots of vegetables and some healthy fruits. Max is a wonderfully easy going Quaker; he sings and chatters like most quakers and is picking up small words from his foster mommy. He is a little cage aggressive but once out, just wants to snuggle or be on your shoulder. He does well taking a shower and likes the water! Max will make a wonderful companion for someone willing to work with him on stepping up and his vocabulary!

“BEBE & BRAVO”
Senegal & Indian Ringneck
*bonded – must be adopted together*
Adoption fee $325 or $450 with Cages
Bebe is a 9 year old male Senegal and Bravo is a 8 yr old male Indian Ringneck. They have been together their whole lives and need to go to the same home together. They love to interact with each other, while they do not share a cage they like to be able to see each other and they like to play and interact with each other during their out of cage time (playtime daily). Sometime Bebe will go into Bravo’s cage to hang out with him or vise versa. Bebe steps up readily to come out of his cage and loves to hang upside down, laugh and say his name. He would love to hang out with you and Bravo ALL day if you let him! He also loves to have his neck rubbed. He enjoys interaction with you or can play happily by himself or with Bravo. Bravo is a little less trusting of hands than Bebe, but once he trusts you he will like to hang out with you on your head or shoulder, he will tell you to “come here” and also calls to Bebe, he is a sweetheart, but need someone who has patience as he has trust issues, but once he trust you, he is very chatty and loving. Won’t you be their forever home? |

“SNICKERS”
Quaker Parrot
Adoption Fee $50 Or $100 With Cage
Snickers is a 5 year old quaker parrot. He is a little cage aggressive, but once he is out of the cage, he just loves to sit on your shoulder all day long and preen you and love on you. He is currently being converted to a better diet to include pellets with fresh vegetables and some fruits. He is fairly quiet for a quaker and is content to just hang out with you as much as you will let him!

“BEAKY”
Plum Head Parakeet
Adoption Fee $75 Or $125 With Cage

Beaky is a 15 year old Plumhead Parakeet who recently lost her owner due to a tragic motorcycle accident. Beaky is a great eater and has been converted to a diet of pellets, lots of veggies (which she LOVES!) and some fruit. Beaky is tame and readily steps up. She does not bite, but uses her beak to balance, she does not display any behavioral issues at all; she just needs time to gain trust for scritching time! Beaky squeaks to let you know when she is particularly happy and she mumbles. Our vet has given Beaky a clean bill of health and she is ready for her new adoptive home!

“DUSTY”
Nanday Conure
Adoption Fee $75 or $125 with cage

Dusty is a beautiful Nanday Conure, he is very healthy and fully feathered. He was surrendered to the rescue from a vets office after being abandoned by his owner due to an injury to his wing. He is now all healed up and ready to be adopted! Dusty is a very calm bird and he loves to be out on the play top of the cage. When at home, we don’t lock the cage and while Dusty does not like being held, he will tolerate it when you pick him up, he never bites or even nips. Dusty tries all kinds of food but seems to like grapes, oranges and the parrot dried fruit mix along with zupreem fruit flavored pellets. He is not as loud as most conures of his species, but he can still be vocal when he feels the need. Overall, he is a fabulous bird that will make a great family member! |

“POPPY”
Sun Conure
Adoption Fee $75 or $125 With Cage
Poppy is a very healthy, 12 year old male sun conure who is in perfect feather. Poppy will do best in a one person home, preferably female, with no children, as those are his preferences for socialization. Poppy has lots of quirks, such as he doesn’t like whistling, but loves spaghetti and Lady Gaga! Poppy will make a wonderful companion to the right person who is prepared to be very patient and loving to earn his trust and he has many years left to give as conures can live to be 30-40 years old!

“KIZMET” Hahn’s Macaw
Adoption Fee $350 Or $550 With Cage
Kizmet is a four year old Hahn’s Macaw. When he first came to rescue, he had stripped feather shafts (he didn’t pluck, but would actually strip the shaft of the feathers). You can see that he is no longer over grooming as much as he once was and with more time and a continued improved diet, his feather condition will also improve. He also enjoys taking showers with me now! Kizmet is a typical Hahn’s, he can be a little pushy and is always trying to get into trouble (tried to eat my pencil, my keyboard, the mouse, the buttons on my shirt, my cup, my phone, the remote, etc… obviously he likes to chew on things and needs A LOT of toys at all times and to have them changed out often for variety!) but he is a VERY nice bird! Like most macaws, he picks one person in the home he likes and does not want anyone else to handle him, he will bite those who are not his chosen person. Once he trusts you, he will step up for you and will try to steal food off of your plate! Once he chooses you, he is very trusting, you can do anything with him and he is comfortable with it. He will eat pellets and almonds, but so far doesn’t seem interested in fruits and vegetables, unless you hand feed him, the spoiled little brat! Kizmet can talk a little, he says “Hello” and makes various clicks that he likes you to repeat back to him. He also laughs A LOT! Kizmet does want A LOT of human companionship, he would like to be out of his cage and with you 24/7! Kizmet seemed a little scared of dogs and cats at first, but he has now gotten used to them and seems fine around them, other birds also do not bother Kizmet. Hahn’s macaws are the smallest of the Mini macaws, measuring about 12-14 in length, but they have all the sass of the big boys! Hahn’s can live to be 40-50 years old, so if you decide to adopt Kizmet, he would be a life long companion!

“SNOW FLAKE” Goffin Cockatoo
Adoption Fee $350 Or $550 With Cage
Snow Flake is a lively, funny, silly and VERY loving little Goffin Cockatoo. She is a bit shy and does not really understand the “step up” command yet but is working on that with her foster family. She loves head scritches and being cuddled up nice and close, but STRONGLY prefers men. Don’t be fooled though, she is the typical Cockatoo and can get bratty. Don’t let his size fool you though. There’s a lot of cockatoo in that little body!
She has not shown any aggression but can be loud when feeling ignored. He also speaks, but only she knows most of the words, lol! But, if you are looking for a spunky but loving little friend, Snow Flake just may be the perfect bird for you!

“SPROUT”
Green Cheek Conure
Adoption Fee: $75 or $125 with cage

Sprout is a beautiful little green cheek conure who came out of a home with 29 other birds in North Carolina (you can read more about that intake and the other birds here. We were told that Sprout is approximately 8 months old, however, we feel she/he is a little younger, about 5-6 months. He is a little underweight, but has been gaining since coming into rescue and has received a clean bill of health from the vet. He eats very well, but so far only pellets and some seed. We are working on getting him to eat more types of foods including fresh vegetables and some fruits. Sprout is not an aggressive bird at all, however, he is not used to being handled and has no idea how to step up, so he just needs a little work as he is scared of hands. Once you are able to get him out of the cage (he runs from you a little until he gets used to you, but does not bite), he is very friendly and likes to be scritched and cuddled and will groom you as well! He just needs a little training to be the perfect companion!

“BABY”
QUAKER PARROT
Adoption Fee: $50 or $100 with cage
Hi, my name is Baby. I’m an 8yr old female Quaker – I know I’m a girl ’cause I laid an egg one time about 4 or 5 years ago. I once had a home where I was very much loved, but sadly my owner passed away earlier this year and I lost my home. Some very nice people took me in for a little while, but they had dogs that scared me and thought I’d be happier with a family who were more into birds like me. So here I am, looking for a new home where I can be loved and love someone in return.
I’ve never lived with other birds before, but my foster mom has some and I’m looking forward to meeting them. I don’t mind them being around, but I think I prefer the company of my foster mom and dad more, and I get along with both my foster parents really well – I really like to just sit with them or hang out on their shoulder whenever I can. I really like it when they talk to me and make little kissy sounds – I’ll make ‘em right back and put my head down just so they can both pet me. They think that’s real cute so I ham it up big for them! I can be kinda shy when you first meet me, but be gentle and talk softly to me and I’ll warm up to you real quick, and I absolutely LOVE to be snuggled up in a towel while you hold me and preen the feathers on my head that I cant get to.
Oh, and about my feathers, you may have noticed that I’m missing a few.. Ok, a lot actually.. but only only on my torso and legs – I’ve left my wings and tail alone.. Its a habit I’ve had all my life. My foster mom said the vet told her that I may never be able to grow them back at this point, but if you can get by my looks, you’ll see that I can be a sweet, loveable little girl who just wants your attention, love, and to be out with you whenever I can be. I have a nice big cage, and my foster mom just gave me lots of new toys and perches. So will you come see me and maybe give me another chance at a forever home?

“GEORGIE”
Goffins Cockatoo
Adoption Fee: 350 or $550 with cage
I’m Georgie, a 22 year old Goffin’s cockatoo. I tend to love the ladies, but will warm up to men also. What can I say? I love a good head scratch and won’t be overly picky about who gets the chance to make me happy. Also, don’t let my small stature fool you. I am a gallon of personality jammed into a pint sized body and will entertain you for hours with my antics. I’m a fun loving little buddy who needs a place to call home. Give me a chance and you won’t be sorry.
